Privacy Policy

Eventdor ("Eventdor," "we," "us," or "our") operates a mobile and web application that connects event planners with local vendors (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to anyone who uses the Service, whether as a planner, a vendor, or a visitor browsing without an account.

In short: we collect the information needed to connect planners and vendors, including account details, business profile information, messages between users, and (with your permission) your location to find nearby vendors. We do not sell personal information. Payment details are handled directly by Stripe and never touch our servers.

2. How We Use Information

To create and maintain your account, and to distinguish planner and vendor roles.
To match planners with nearby vendors, or vendors serving a city you search for.
To enable direct messaging between planners and vendors.
To let planners build an event roster and invite guests, and to let guests RSVP.
To process payments for guest-invite unlocks and vendor subscriptions, via Stripe.
To send transactional emails (e.g., guest invitations), via Resend.
To maintain the security and integrity of the Service, and to enforce our terms.

3. Location Data

If you grant permission, the Service uses your device's location to search for vendors near you. Location is used to compute distance at the time of your search and is not stored against your account. You can search by city name instead of location at any time, and you can revoke location permission through your device settings without losing access to the Service.

4. Photos and Media

Vendors may upload portfolio photos and a profile image; all users may upload an avatar. These images are stored securely and displayed to other users of the Service as part of a vendor's public profile or a user's account. You can remove photos you've uploaded at any time from within the app.

5. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

Other users, as intended by the Service: e.g., a vendor's public profile is visible to planners, and messages are visible to the conversation participants.
Stripe: for payment processing. Stripe's own privacy policy governs data you provide directly to Stripe.
Resend: for delivering transactional emails such as guest invitations.
Our infrastructure and hosting providers: to store data securely and operate the Service.
As required by law: if we're required to disclose information to comply with a legal obligation.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time (see Section 8); we will honor such requests except where retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes (for example, records of a completed payment).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted connections between the app and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can update most of your profile information directly in the app. To request access, correction, or deletion of your data, contact us at privacy@eventdor.com.

Eventdor operates out of Ontario, Canada, and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA). If you are located outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada or other countries where our service providers operate.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
